Construction on weak subsoil is a reoccurring challenge for engineers nowadays, which various different solutions are available. Geosynthetics getting more and popular one of their most widely used application reinforcement. Several types geosynthetics can be used, the well-known vertical drains geogrids. Prefabricated accelerating consolidation in oversaturated soils with high water content as they drain excess from soil while also decreasing pore pressure, optimizing bearing capacity reducing risk liquefaction settlements. The main limitation not significantly total subsidences. Gravel concrete piles recent years, rigid inclusions (unreinforced piles) popular. A common feature them that so-called Load Transfer Platform (LTP) has to built between superstructure foundation prevent direct contact another. LTP stiff, reinforced layer helps arching load. Design may carried out using several design standards, Collin’s beam method CUR226. This paper focuses presenting comparing these two methods, emphasizing differences applicability considering limitations.
